New domain name

  I just got a domain name 3 days ago on wordpress. Will I have to add my new domain (oldnaija.com) in google webmaster tools. Note, I already did when I was using subdomain (oldnaija.wordpress.com). Also after setting my new domain as primary, what else am I suppose to do? Thanks in advance.

  Hi there,

  Verifying the custom domain in Google Search Console and setting it as your site’s primary/canonical domain there is a good idea, yes. But otherwise there isn’t anything else you need to do aside from keeping publishing new content.

  Google will take a few weeks to re-index your site at the new address, but otherwise you should be able to carry on as normal.
