Make the website live
Use the domain name I have just bought?

Hi Justin, you can follow the instructions in this post to map or transfer a domain.

You will need an upgraded WordPress.com plan on your site in order to transfer in a domain. Each paid plan comes with a free domain credit you can use to either register a new domain or transfer/map one you already own.

If this for http://just4funkcom.wordpress.com/? That site is hosted with us on WordPress.com, so if you bought hosting somewhere else, cancel it. Unless you want to move http://just4funkcom.wordpress.com/ away from WordPress.com to another hosting provider, you don’t need to pay for hosting somewhere else. Don’t cancel your domain, though.
To use a domain you bought somewhere else with a WordPress.com site, you first need to buy a paid plan. Go to My Site ->Plans and purchase the plan you want.
Next, you need to connect the domain to your site. If you just registered the domain you won’t be able to transfer it to us as advised above. Instead, you need to add the domain mapping upgrade to connect the domain here. You add the upgrade by going to My Site ->Domains ->Add and select the option to use a domain you already own.
You’ll also need to ask your domain provider to make a change to the domain so it gets pointed at us. Complete instructions here:

I have now:
Bought a plan
Unlocked the domain
Been sent an authorisation codeIt did not ask me to input the code! When I clicked “I have an auth code” it just ticked it green but there was no input box.
Would you mind having a look to see where we are?

You need to first complete the transfer steps on our end. Once you go through checkout in the transfer, you will receive an email from our registrar with a link. You click the link in that email to go to the screen where you enter the transfer code and accept the transfer.

What is the domain you’re trying to transfer? Please keep in mind that if you registered it fewer than 60 days ago you won’t be able to transfer it to us yet. In that case you can map it to us in the meantime, and transfer it once it’s no longer transfer locked.

My website is just4funkcom.wordpress.com and the new domain is soulfunkdisco.com. I bought the domain last summer so more than 60 days.
I have unlocked the domain and it has no privacy.
I’m getting stuck at the privacy / email point. I’ve had no emails like you mention above.

That’s because you haven’t purchased the transfer yet. You don’t get the email on the pre-check screen where we make sure the domain is unlocked and privacy disabled. You only get the email after you finish adding the transfer to your account. In the page I linked to above you need to complete up to step 13 before you will receive the confirmation email.
