New domain, new website

  Hi,
  I’m re-branding, so I have a new domain name. My current site has the old domain name and was set up on Wix. I want to create a new site on WordPress, with the new domain name. So how do I seamlessly direct people from my old site to the new one?

  Hi virginiawangwolf,

  In order to seamlessly direct people from your old site (and domain name) to your new site (and new domain name), you will need to “map” your old domain name to your new WordPress site. You have a couple of different options for mapping an existing domain:

  1. Keep your old domain registered with Wix and “map” it to your new WordPress site.
  2. Transfer the registration for the old domain name to WordPress where it will be “mapped” correctly, as well as managed, in one place.
