New domain redirect

I have an existing domain with HostGator that I’ve transferred to WordPress to host my website. I’m changing my company name and would like to change my domain name as well, but would like to keep the old one active for a bit, and have it redirect to the new.
    1. Is there a way to copy and transfer my entire WordPress website to the new domain so that they look exactly the same and I don’t have to re-enter any info? I would like it to stay functional even when I deactivate the old.
    2. Can I have my old domain automatically redirect people to the new domain?

    Thanks!

  • Hi, that’s a smart plan to leave a bit of overlap.

We do have a tool that can transfer a full site with plugins, themes, and all. It requires a Jetpack connection and our Business plan:

Once everything is up and going, you can add both domains and simply make the new one primary. That will redirect links for you, too.
