New Domain Redirection

  I am thinking about changing my blog URL to lukey140701.com but I am worried about losing viewers. If I update my url to lukey140701.com, if people go to lukey140701.wordpress.com will it redirect them to lukey140701.com If it does now redirect I more than likely won’t update my domain.

  I have the exact same question so I hope someone answers it. I’ve already contacted support about it. The whole idea of having a private domain (ie, not having ‘wordpress’ as part of the URL) is to make it look like it’s part of my business site.

  It looks like you are talking about the domain mapping upgrade, then the answer is yes: as long as you continue to pay your dues, and as long as you follow all of the steps, your old __.wordpress.com will automatically be replaced by your new __.com address.
