  Hey ‘Happiness Engineers!’ I’m unhappy! Your new editor is virtually unusable, and you want $25 a month so I can upgrade in order to download a plug-in to let me edit the way I have for almost a decade. Nice. So, after 9+ years and over 1,000 posts I have to end my blog. Thank you so much

  Hi there,

  It is no longer possible to set the classic editor as default on WordPress.com. The block editor, which has been the default editor for the open source WordPress software since version 5.0 was released in December 2018, is now also the default editor for all sites on WordPress.com.

  If you prefer the classic editor, you can use the classic block for a similar editing experience.
