New Editor

Okay, I tried your new WordPress editor. Not that I had a choice. When I opened WP yesterday to post my weekly blog it simply opened in the new editor and I didn’t have time until today to figure out that I could go back to the ‘classic’ editor. Frankly, the experience was profoundly negative. I typically type my blogs in MSWord and just copy and paste them into WordPress. Normally, a few format changes and a quick spellcheck is all that is needed. But this new block format dorked up everything. Every paragraph was full of words in which WP simply removed the spaces between words forcing me to spend a great deal of time fixing what shouldn’t have been broken in the first place. Then I had to reformat the things I usually do, but the new controls were not at all intuitive, and in fact were often so hidden that I had to go looking for them. Instead of making a quick post in five or ten minutes, I spent 20 or 30 (and I never did find a spellcheck button). I am accustomed to using quality tools on WP that are useful, effective, intuitive, and well thought out but this new editor was none of those things. The experience was, frankly, awful. Please of PLEASE do not require me to use this. Ever.

Agree 100%. I used this for a day, and I’m crying tears of joy about being able to go back to the old editor.
