new editor

After being repeatedly prompted to try the new editor. I did. Big mistake. All I did was copy paste some text in to an existing post (to update it) and the pasted text wouldn’t stop duplicating, no matter what I tried no matter what I tried no matter what I tried no matter what I tried no matter what I tried no matter what I tried no matter what I tried no matter what I tried no matter what I tried no matter what I tried no matter what I …
like that. I closed the window, re-opened and re-entered wordpress, 3x; the last time, before reopening the post, I switched back to classic editor and only then was I able to stop the duplication and fix the post. My question is what the hell?

  • Hi there,

That definitely shouldn’t happen. I don’t see any other reports of this, though, so it was either a one-time glitch, or a bug that’s only triggered by very specific circumstances.

In order to find the cause we need to be able to replicate it on our end, so can you please give me the following:

    1. your operating system and browser, including version numbers. You can find that info at http://supportdetails.com/

    2. Did you use the new editor via the My Site ->Blog Posts ->Add interface, or in WP-Admin?

    3. From where did you copy the text? From a word processor? A different website?

    4. Can you please give a link to the post where this happened, even if you’ve already fixed it since?
