New editor 3 – basic functions disappeared
-
Some of my observations with the new editor.
Basic functions disappeared with the new version, namely: the separators and the “read more” tag. You cannot indent your text by columns any more.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This all can still be achieved in the block editor. For each of this function, there is a particular block. You just need to add a block to add a separator, read more tag and to add columns to your post, pages.
Have a look at the blocks guide mention below:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/more-block/
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/separator-block/
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/columns-block/These all the guides will help you achieve all the functions that you thought were missing.
Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot! I will try it soon, however, it would be even smarter to publish this arcane information parallel with introducing a new system. These furtive pages cannot be found by a common user.

Hi there,
Most of the support pages regarding the block editor are updated – are you referring to the unified navigation in this instance? If that is the case, we are working hard to update any pages that are now out of date due to the change.
We understand your frustration, but please let us know if have any specific questions with the interface, and we’d be happy to help.
Thanks,

Dear Darnelldibbkes,
first, it is good to see that some group is working on mainteance – but this shows again that a test before sending something new into the aether would be even better.
This won’t change the essence: this new editor that was coerced upon the users – failed. I don’t see any opportunity to use the previous one. It was also far from being smart, but, at least, it worked. -
Over a series of topics you have asked repeatedly for assistance in accessing, or switching back to, the Classic Editor. Examples, with bold added for emphasis:
1. This topic, Reply #3655510, directly above)

2. topic: New editor 2 – manual missing, Reply #3655307:
Than yo again – cannot it be solved w/o switching, just using the old one as before? It was far from completeness, however, it worked.
3. topic: New editor 2 – manual missing, Reply #3655517:
Thanks. I have never heard of Unified Navigatiob, just I wish to use WP. Like about a month ago.
It is really annoying and frustrating when something works, then somebody bans it, and asks money for using it instead of an unusable.
4. topic: New editor 5 – annoying bugs, Reply #3655514:
BTW I guess the main problem is the block concept. I daresay there are people who love it. But why does WP think that it is all users’ first preference? Why is it so important to make their lives unbearable?
I agree with you that the Block Editor is more difficult to use, and troublesome in many ways. It would indeed be unbearable to have to use that editor every day. However, lucky for us, the Classic Editor is still available to all WordPress.com users, and it’s still free. Here’s the Classic Editor support page, and the recently revised How to Access the Classic Editor section of that support page.
What’s unclear is why, despite the fact that you repeatedly, over multiple topics, made it very clear that you didn’t like the Block Editor, you wanted to use the Classic Editor instead, AND you didn’t know how to revert back to using the Classic Editor, or know that you didn’t have to pay to do so, at no time did staff provide you with a link to either the How to Access the Classic Editor section of the Classic Editor support page, or to information on how to change the the “Show advanced dashboard pages” at Account Settings > Dashboard Appearance.

I have never heard of Unified Navigatiob
Nor were you provided a link to important the Unified Navigation topic, until now.

Dear Musicdoc1,
well, you are inevitably right that my phobia of the new editor appears in too many complaints. However, as you cited, I have much more direct and concrete problems, too. Obviously, there is no solution for the problem you have mentioned. But are there solutions to my further, concrete problems? This would be great.
A completely new system was been introduced without a know-how. Instead of a manual we still get some FAQs and similar pathetic stuff.
Maybe there are users who love the new editor. Why not? But why did you make it complicated to use the working one for those who are accustomed to it?
Etc. You see the problems I mentioned.

https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/ has been available since day 1 of the new editor.

That’s not what I said at all. Please read my previous posts again. My criticism above is solely directed at staff’s failure to respond appropriately to your numerous requests for information on accessing the classic. Your requests in at least three different topics, as I’ve itemized above, for help in accessing again the classic editor with which you are familiar should have been addressed IMMEDIATELY by responding staff, by providing you with the appropriate information.

In post #3655783, I said:

Perhaps you hadn’t read the last paragraph of that post.

Dear Macmanx, thank you the aid – but how could a user find it out that there is a manual somewhere? :(
