New editor 4 – image subscript collapse
-
Some of my observations with the new editor.
4) It is impossible to indent the image subscription to middle. Somebody found it better to change it to a fixed left indentation.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You can align the image in the center:

You can align the image ITSELF, but the subsciption you are unable. Somebody decided that the image subscription shoukd take place on the left hand size – the most inappropriate location one could imagine.

Hi there,
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘image subscription” can you tell me more about it? How does it differ from a standard image? Is there one of these “image subscriptions” on your site that we can visit to look at it directly?
Thanks for the additional info!

Dear Jerrysarcastic,
sorry if I don’t use the correct terms: I mean you place an image, and you want to show a title of it. In the working old editor it appeared bottom & middle, now bottom & LEFT – the worst location you can imagine ever, and there is no way to make it correct somehow.

Dear macmanx, 10 days after may I ask what the perspectives are with the alignment correction?

The issue is still being worked on. You can track it’s progress here in the open source Gutenberg editor project on Github: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/12997

Which site is this for? https://sunyiverzum.wordpress.com/ yes? If you upgrade this site to our Premium plan, it will enable the option to add custom CSS code (which we can help with) and this is the only way in the meantime.
For example, with the proper CSS, captions on the site will look like this:
Also you do have the option to return to using the Classic Editor if you wish. TO do that you will want to set your account to “Show advanced dashboard pages” here: https://wordpress.com/me/account
Just click the option shown in my screenshot here: https://d.pr/i/QqCdQz
Once you have turned on that option, you can visit your list of posts and instead of seeing the WordPress.com admin view, you will see the more advanced “wp-admin” view. On that page you can access the classic editor via the options shown in this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/pbLBUS
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
