New Editor
-
When WordPress switched to the new editor I hated it. But, as with every new UX, I thought I’d give it some time. Now, a few months later, I can confidently say: I hate it even more. After many years with WordPress I am now looking for an alternate blogging platform.

We have tips for transitioning from the classic editor to blocks https://wordpress.com/support/switching-from-the-classic-to-the-block-editor/ and FAQs: https://wordpress.com/support/replacing-the-older-wordpress-com-editor-with-the-wordpress-block-editor/#frequently-asked-questions
And, if you really want to use something like the classic editor, we recommend sticking with the classic block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
We also have some extensive documentation available at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/
If you have any feedback on the new editor, we’re always looking for ways to improve it, so please let us know!

It’s 2021. Editors are supposed to be intuitive and user-friendly. The fact that you have so much documentation for switching from the old editor to the new speaks volumes about the usability of the new editor.

How do I switch back to the old editor? And I don’t mean adding a “classic block” but actually reverting completely to the old editor. Thanks.

I have a bookmark saved that I use. You have to use the bookmark link each time you make a post as all other “links” take you to the new editor.
https://???????.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?classic-editorYou need to replace the ??????? in the URL above with the relevant portion of your blog’s URL and then use the URL and save it as a bookmark.
Hope this makes sense and helps you out.

If this is your blog, this URL should work for you.
