New Editor Feedback – No "Display post in" module in the New Editor
-
Hi,
The new post editor lacks some features specific to themes.
And it looks like there is no effort spent for restoring them in the new editor.I remarked the absence of “Display post in” module which comes as a part of my theme, Outspoken in the new post editor 8 months ago, back in August 2014. (See my post in the forum thread: )
Grace told that she reported this to the developers for their review, but her “report” probably got lost among the other reports of missing features, or the developers gave it a low priority
(See her postAnother missing feature of my theme Outspoken in the new editor -which I didn’t mention in my post in August- is the “full width” option of Image Post Format. (See the option in this screenshot: https://otomobilaski.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/postformat.png )
I am still waiting for these settings of my theme Outspoken to be implemented in the new editor. This situation is the #1 reason why I don’t use the new editor.
I guess there are lots of other theme-specific features waiting to be implemented too, from both premium and normal themes. And I want to emphasise that the lack of these “LITTLE” features make the new editor less attractive.
We were able to use the old editor with a direct link from the new one while waiting for the features to be replaced, but now that the link is removed, the new editor which we are being forced to use doesn’t help anything but slow down our blogging experience.
I hope my feedback will be considered this time.

Hi there,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention again. I want to assure you that our team is aware of this issue, as it affects any theme that has theme-specific modules and customizations to the post editor. We haven’t found a way to integrate these theme-specific modules into the new post editor, but it’s definitely on our radar.
I don’t know the timeline for changing how the new post editor works with themes like Outspoken, so I’m not sure when that will change for you. For now, I’d recommend continuing to use the classic editor — you can get there directly with this link:
https://otomobilaski.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php
To get there from https://wordpress.com/ you can click on “My Sites” in the upper left, and then click on “WP Admin” in the sidebar to open the classic WP Admin dashboard. You can view your existing posts under Posts > All Posts and start a new post under Posts > Add New.
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help.
