"New Editor" Problems

I use the browser version of WordPress for my site middleofnowheregaming.com and it automatically switched all of my writers over to the “new editor” when writing new stories. For some reason when they save their drafts, it deletes all of their categories and tags. However, I was able to switch to the “Old Editor” and that seems to save everything just fine like it used to. How can I solve the “New Editor” problem for my writers? Is there a way to force switch all of them to the “Old Editor”? Is there a way for them to switch it if I can’t? They are reporting that they don’t see any link on the page to switch.

Please make sure they are all running the browsers and versions of them found at http://browsehappy.com. And also make sure that they all have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled

Once they switch to the Classic Editor it will always remember to use the Classic Editor, so you only need them to switch it once. The link is in the top right hand corner of the New Editor if I recall.

@Raincoaster, I stated that they are reporting that the link does not appear on the page for them. they even sent me screenshots of it and they are right. It’s simply not there.

Ah, some people predicted that it would vanish. I’ll see if I can’t reverse engineer the link for you.

(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/They can use http://snag.gy/ to share screenshots with you and you can use the WordPress.com guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/”> and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it. Don’t forget to enter the modlook thread for their attention in the sidebar of this thread.

Can you let me know what kinds of categories and tags are getting deleted from their posts? I can pass that information on to our team so they can investigate that issue. :)
If your writers need to switch back to the classic editor, the link for that should be at the bottom of the right-hand sidebar in the new editor: https://cloudup.com/c1xT0DqiVRB
If they don’t see it there, they may need to clear their WordPress.com cookies first.
