New editor problems
-
I keep getting the ‘oops there was a problem’ message when trying to edit one of my pages. I have refreshed and cleared my internet cache and cookies but still no joy.
I went on to edit in the Ipad app but now the page I edited has been moved to the top of my buttons list rather in the order I had carefully selected.
I generally prefer to do my edits in the browser rather than the app as it is much more flexible and easier to rectify problem if something goes wrong.
Is ‘classic mode’ still available, because that had better functionality and you were able to rank your pages easily? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can you let me know what page you’re trying to edit? Also, are you receiving the message when you try to open the page or when you try to publish the edits?

Are you referring to the menu shown here?
If so, you should be able to change that order by creating a custom menu:
Can you give that a try?

Definitely! You can access the classic editor here:

Just hover over “Pages” and click “All Pages.” Then, hover over the page you would like to edit and click the “Edit” link. That should take you to the classic editor!

Thanks for your response. I was trying to edit the ‘Events’ page using the new web editor. The error message popped up when I clicked the page to be edited. It then took me to a new blank page.
This seems to be working now though, whatever it was..Yes that was the menu I was referring to. I had a go with the custom menu and it didn’t seem to have any effect. I managed to sort the problem the way I did in the past which was by using the ‘classic mode’ and changing the order in ‘page attributes’. I wonder if there’s a conflict between the page attributes I set up and the custom menu?
But thank you, everything is back to the way it should be and I am pleased that the classic mode is here to stay.

Great! Glad the original issue seems to be resolved. If it pops up again, please let me know.
Regarding the menu, once you create a new menu, you still need to “activate” it by setting it up here:
https://innerpiecesmusic.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php?action=locations
Can you try setting Menu 1 under that dropdown? That should fix the issue! Custom menus are much easier to change on the fly rather than setting the order under page attributes.
