New Editor Sucks!!!

What’s with the new Editor???
No advance notice…
No way to go back to the old Editor…
No clear way to Preview or Publish + Publicize now doesn’t work!!!
I am very unhappy—especially since the Preview function is non-existent and there is NO CLEAR PUBLISH button—as well as the dashboard being “hidden”—I’m not even sure how I found it again…
POOR DESIGN—NOT INTUITIVE—HOW DO I SWITCH BACK TO THE OLD WAY (which worked just fine…)?????

We really appreciate your feedback. We did update quite a few links to point to our new editor. However, please keep in mind that the old editor is still available. You just need to access it by clicking “Edit” underneath a post here:

If you would like, could you add your main sticking points to that thread? We’ll do our best to address them all!
Let me address each of your individual questions:

You should see a “Publish” button at the bottom of the post on http://wordpress.com/post as well as a Preview button like this:
As far as Publicize, this shouldn’t be affected. Could you point me to a post that didn’t Publicize correctly since the change?

There was no Publish button…

I will not add my problems to the other thread since those posts merely repeat the outrage I feel for changing the normal access to Writing a post with absolutely no warning…
I had two hours of complete frustration…
Now, I know I just need to go to the Dashboard and create a new post there…
That “new”, “improved” post-creator app is a Huge FAIL…

Hey Alexander,
If you’re editing a draft within the new editor, the button at the bottom will read “Update”. In order to publish a post, you’ll need to change the status on the “Publish” tab shown here:
Also, the Preview button did not give me a Preview…
Can you make sure the preview pop-up wasn’t blocked?

- Did you start and finish that post from the new editor (as opposed to starting in wp-admin and moving to the new editor)?
- Can you confirm that the individual social networks were selected under Publicize when you published the post?

I can confirm that the social networks were selected.
Plus, I can’t even remember how I eventually published that post—I was so frustrated and mad that the editor was so flawed…

The preview pop-up was not blocked.
Thanks for clarifying! I’m unable to reproduce this at the moment. Whenever I click “Preview” the preview of the post is opened in a new window. Can you try to use one more browser just to do a quick comparison? I’d love to find out if this is a browser setting issue or something else entirely.
