I’m simply trying to change my email address because I no longer have access to my old one. Somehow I’ve managed to create a new account with the new email address and this account needs to be deleted so that I can use my new email with my existing account. The update link that has been sent to my new email is getting me nowhere. I click it and it brings me to the login screen and when I put in my username it says that it has sent a link to my email, but clearly it’s going to the one I can’t access. And when I use my new email it says the user doesn’t exist. HELP PLEASE!

Somehow I’ve managed to create a new account with the new email address and this account needs to be deleted so that I can use my new email with my existing account.
Don’t delete the account, yet. In order to free up the email address you want to use on the primary account, change the email address of the new account to a third email address. Once that is done, the primary email address will be available again. You can delete the new account later.
Do you access to the primary account? It’s not necessary that you have access to the account email address in order to access the account. You don’t even necessarily have to know the account email address in order access the account, because typically the username and password are sufficient.
1. If you have access to the account, then simply follow the instructions in the Update Email Address support page to change the account address. Under no circumstances will access to your old email address be necessary to complete the process described in that support page.
2. If you don’t have access to the account, then you’ll need to regain access to the account before you can change the account email address. See the Account Recovery support page.

Okay, I should have added a lot more detail. I thought maybe someone else had experienced the loop at login. So when I am trying to log in, I put in my username. After that I press continue and the next thing that pops up is something like “check your email for the link we sent”. I’m assuming this is happening because I haven’t logged in to my account from my laptop using Internet Explorer. I was using chrome but had to delete it for disk space lol. Anyways I can’t access the link because it’s going to the old email address. Now, I have the app on my phone, which is how I changed my email address to begin with. Even when I click the update link in my new email from my phone it does the same thing and displays the same message about checking my email for the link that was sent.

Clicking that link should have confirmed the change and updated the email address. I don’t have an explanation as to why it might fail to do so, but I suspect that it could be due to a browser issue. I’ve called for staff attention to the topic. Staff will respond here.

But remember that you can only change the account email address to an available email address. You’ve already stated that the desired email address is already in use on a new account, so you’ll have to free up that email address as I described above in order to use it on the primary account.

it’s heavenlyplaces.design and (email visible only to moderators and staff) (the new email) also I freed up the new email address like musicdoc1 suggested so that I can use it for the update to my original account

okay so now I’m having an additional problem. When I click the link in my email to update it’s still saying the user doesn’t exist. When I try to use the “continue with google” option it’s redirecting me to this account even though I’ve changed the email for this one. This is all so confusing. I would just start over with a new account but my domain is already paid for
