New email registration

    I received an email saying I got a new user registered on my site. I have not authorised this or have knowledge of who it is.

    I believe I may have been hacked, how do I remove and block this person and what’s are ways to protect myself in the future.

    Hi there,

    On what site are you working? The account you’re using to post here does not own any sites on WordPress.com.

    If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another host, please ask for help at https://wordpress.org/support/forums instead.

    You most likely have the option enabled in WP-Admin ->Settings ->General to allow guest registrations on your site. People who register in that way are registered as subscribers by default, and do not have access to your site’s dashboard.
