new entry only says "…more"

  I just posted a new blog (first in several years) and it only shows the title and more…. with an unchosen by me colored background. How do I fix this? Thanks!

  Perhaps you created a sticky post http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts and inserted the more tag into it? http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
  Is that the case?
