New feature suggestion
-
I’m trying to suggest a new feature to WordPress.com, have been led to WordPress.org, where it seems my .com login credentials do not work; so I’ll suggest it here in the hopes that someone can either let me know where to direct the suggestion, or direct it there themselves :-)
My feature suggestion has to do with the comment dialog box, such as the one used through Reader to respond to posts or comments, or such as the one I am using to write this suggestion. I’ve noticed several times, when I am trying to respond to a longer comment in Reader, that the dialog box is too small. True, there is already a way to drag-resize the box; but when a longer comment is loaded and the box is at the bottom of the window, I’ve noticed that I have to juggle the resize while scrolling the rest of the window to eventually make enough breathing room in the dialog box. My suggestion is that this be changed; so that when a user drag-resizes the dialog box, that the window autoscrolls so long as the resize is being dragged. This would have the appearance of the dialog box growing, while the rest of the window scrolls upward. It would simply speed up the drag-resize feature.
Thank you for reading, and thank you in advance for your time and consideration :-)

I believe the comment boxes expand as we type.
Provide this specific info:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/Then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. Thank you for your quick response, Timethief! In my case, the comment box does expand as I type in it; but only to a size encompassing 4 1/2 lines, after which I have to drag-resize, scroll a bit, and drag-resize again to see more of what I’ve written – regardless whether I have the browser window maximized or not. My suggestion isn’t really for a complete new feature, so much as simply allowing the auto-expand to keep expanding, and not restrain it to its current limit. This would allow users to see more of what they have written in longer comments at a glance.
My device is an old Toshiba Satellite, model L775-11K; OS is Kubuntu 16.04; and I’m using Firefox, version 46.0.1

Hi @stormwiseraven, I don’t have Kubuntu installed here, but I’ve tested in Firefox latest (same version you have) and the comment box expands as expected. Would you like to troubleshoot further?
If so, can you inspect the element and check for console errors?

@Timethief, thank you again for your prompt and friendly response!
@Supernovia, hello and thank you, as well, for the speedy response! I would love to continue troubleshooting; but have no experience with inspecting elements to check for console errors … if you already have a walkthrough for this posted somewhere, please send me the URL and I would be happy to proceed.

Sure, to inspect elements, right-click (or alt-click) and choose Inspect Element. Then click on Console. If you see errors there you can copy and paste.
