New Feature? Tags on Pages

    2nd try: While testing for a forum thread I noticed that Tags now appear under Pages both in the dashboard sidebar and in the Page Editor sidebar as well. (Temporary Screenshots)

    There’s currently no mention of this addition on the Pages Support Guide and where this feature might be useful.

    Hi Jen! I confirmed with the team and we don’t have tags on Pages. :-/ Were you using any plugin or specific theme? Could you please confirm which site were you checking this on? Thank you.

    HI, No plugins. It’s on ablogdemo.wordpress.com using the Sketch theme.

    Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

    I’ve tested the theme Sketch, and even when adding a tag to a page, it doesn’t function as it does for posts. As such, I wouldn’t expect the option to add tags to Pages to appear in the editor at all, so I’ve reported this to our developers for further investigation.

    While I’m not sure when there will be an update on this theme, I appreciate you taking the time to report this. In the meantime, you can safely ignore the Tags box when working with Pages, as that feature is specifically for posts.
