New followers, appear to be fake blogs

Over the last month or so, I’ve been getting some ‘interesting’ new followers — most of which are identical WordPress.com blogs, with different domain names, and most are claiming they sell vitamins. However, today, I got two followers from WordPress.com blogs that were apparently porn sites.
Now I’m removing these followers , although they keep coming back. It’s irritating, but what I really want to know is how safe is my blog? Presumably they wouldn’t be doing this if there wasn’t an ulterior motive…..

Your site is very safe.
The only thing a follower can do is receive notification of your new posts.
Most likely, the ulterior motive is just to get you to visit their sites.
As for their sites, please report them via either https://en.support.wordpress.com/report-blogs/ or https://en.wordpress.com/abuse/
