new formate too difficult

I absolutely HATE the new format!!!!!!!! It is extremely unfriendly and difficult. This block business is uncontrollable. I want my old format back!!!!

Hi @lindapennell, sorry to hear it. Can you let us know what issues you’re running into?
The classic editor will be fully retired at some point, and I’d like a chance to surface the issues you’re having before then.

The block thing is VERY difficult to get right! The fact that I can no longer place and easily size pictures as I wish is terrible. Trying to move text and pictures around is next to impossible. This format makes it almost a certainty that the post must be planned and written in another system, like Microsoft Word, and then transferred to WordPress. There are too many hoops to jump through to get what I could do with a couple of clicks with the old format. The old, continuous script format and picture placement capability worked so well. Why try to fix what wasn’t broken?

Have you tried using the “classic block?”
It is essentially a block that has the old editing tools inside of it, so you can “insert” the classic editor inside of the newer block editor: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
All content (text and images) you add inside the classic block use the same tools you are accustomed to, so you should be able to work with images the same as you did in the previous interface.
