New Formats

I am very tired of programmers deciding what I need and attempting to anticipate all my options. Your new forced editor, the disappearance of the classic editor, new decisions I must make prior to posting, the disappearance of WP admin all make this feel like a brand new website. Now I have to jump through hoops to return to what I have used successfully for years. Might as well go to a new platform. Stop fixing what is not broken!

Hi there:
This interface change updates the design and link structure of four administration interfaces to be the same across all WordPress.com screens. It realigns closer with the open-source WordPress wp-admin look & feel and makes it easier to integrate future upgrades to the experience.
Based on user feedback, going between different parts of WordPress.com and seeing so many different menus and sidebars was confusing and this update aims to make the user experience easier so this allows users to more easily manage their site directly from the sidebar.
We have tips for transitioning from the classic editor to blocks https://wordpress.com/support/switching-from-the-classic-to-the-block-editor/ and FAQs: https://wordpress.com/support/replacing-the-older-wordpress-com-editor-with-the-wordpress-block-editor/#frequently-asked-questions
And, if you really want to use something like the classic editor, we recommend sticking with the classic block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
We also have some extensive documentation available at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/
If you have any feedback on the new editor, we’re always looking for ways to improve it, so please let us know!
