New Gutenberg text editor limits acess to catagoies.
-
I have enabled the Gutenberg text editor on my blogs.
Interesting, however, as I’m toying around with it, I discovered that I cannot access all my catagories, of which I have accumulated quite a few over the years. That said, it seems to have limited my total categories to right around 100 as I am not even able to create any more much less access all the ones I have already created.
Interestingly enough—there is no list of tags to access at all; one simply writes them in. Should I assume that tags are unlimited and categorizes are not?
I’m not passing judgement on the Gutenberg text editor. In fact, I think the concept is intriguing and will only get better in the future. However, I find the limiting of access and creation of categories & tags to be a huge shortcoming, particularly for what is supposed to be, a literary device. I hope this will be remedied soon.
Thank you.

As I look closer at the old editor, I see that I didn’t necessarily, or at least purposely, make parent-categories or sub-categories, I simply made catetgories. Therefore–they are all parent-categories and Therefore they all show up in the old editor’s category list. At the time, I did what was simplest. The new edtior recognizes only 100 or so of these and is blind to the rest of them and therefore they are inacessable.

This new editor is very complicated for those who just want to have a good writing experience. The old editor, and I mean the oldest one, found in wp-admin, is more complete and easy to use.
