New header imagine not visible in searches/links

  Hi – I updated my header image 2 weeks ago and while I can see it when I am on my blog site, when I share it in social media it still shows the old header image in the preview. Also, when I have it open the browser tab still shows the old image. The current image is a suggested one from the WordPress template I am using; the old one was an image of my own. Does it typically take this long for the image to be updated in all places?

  Hi @lushonamission ,

  I’m sorry to hear you’re having troubles with your header image. As your site is set to private, there is a limit to what I can do to help. I will list a few suggestions here you can try out. If they don’t work, then I have sent you a request to view your blog. If you don’t mind me seeing your blog, I might be able to help out further.

  What is the social media you are having trouble with? SNS posts from before the header-image change may still show the old header in the preview. Are you having problems with new SNS posts you have made since?

  Also, when I have it open the browser tab still shows the old image.

  Are you referring to the small icon displayed in your tab? This is called a Site Icon and is different from a header image. Each are changed and managed separately. The following link will tell you how to change your site icon.

  Does it typically take this long for the image to be updated in all places?

  Hey there – thanks for your response. I accidentally posted about the wrong blog. The blog I am referring to is this one, which is public.

  The social media site I’m referring to is Facebook. When I post the link to Facebook the new header image (which is now about a month old) still doesn’t show… it shows the old one, which is a basket of flowers.

  Oh… never mind! I just figured it out! It’s the site icon that shows up in the preview on FB; not the header image!
