New "Improved" Text Editor

    This is far from being an improvement, The text comes out in something that looks like Courier, the size is tiny and hard to decipher and it seems to lack some of the functions of the old Classic Editor. There doesn’t seem to be any way to alter text size now in either of the editors. I’m sure there used to be.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    If you are into fiddling about with font families, sizes and/or colors on each and every post you make by using the Text editor (HTML editor) then you can change it in the body text in posts and pages. But for changing it in Titles and widgets you need to purchase an upgrade.

    These are 3 ways to change fonts on WordPress.com blogs.

    (1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the Text ie. HTML editor. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/11/formatting-text-pt-5/

    (2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

    (3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support.

    This text editor is awful and I’d advise getting rid of it. I teach WordPress and find that it’s difficult enough for most people to figure out how to use the standard post editor. This option throws them off completely. And what’s with the beep-beep-boop stuff? Please, toss it!

    Over a year of Staff time has gone into the development of the new Beep Beep Boop editor and Staff are definitely not going to toss it. There focus is on improving to a level where we will all want to use it https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/new-post-editor-improvements?replies=12

    I was looking for a place to post suggestions on the Editor… I’d like to try it but haven’t been able to find a link to “Copy a post” like in the classic editor, and I compose all of my posts around a saved “template”.

    (Apologies in advance if I should’ve posted this elsewhere. :-) )

    @lassfromlancashire-

    Hi there,

    The font is Helvetica, and you can change the font size just like you did in the classic editor by clicking on the Toggle Toolbar as seen here:

    @saintpauly-

    Hi there,

    Unfortunately, the Copy A Post feature has been removed from the new editor and will not be added.

    Let me know if you have any questions with this!
