New interface

I have a couple of questions about your new interface for posting stories (which, by the way, is patently awful):
–First, where o where is the Get Short Link function? I need this to link posts to pages, but it seems to have vanished. If there is no way to provide links to posts in pages, my site design will be rendered useless. I need to know how to fix this problem.
–Second, is there anyway I can just turn off the new interface and keep using the old interface without having to change from one to the other every single time the page reloads. Very annoying.
Your previous interface was extremely user friendly and simple. I’m not sure what rocket scientist decided that it needed to be changed, but it has done nothing to improve WordPress.

I still don’t see any explanation of where to find the short link in the new editor. And opting out of the new editor DOES NOT change it permanently. I’ve opted out about 68 times, and it still keeps going back to the new interface. This is a maddening mess!!!

Please answer my questions directly, instead of directing me to a string of unconnected messages that have little to do with what I actually asked.

In the link I sent you it stated this under Missing Features:
We’re considering features like spellcheck, word count, proofread, revisions, and shortlink available in the new editor and if/how they should best be introduced into the new editor.
The shortlink function is not in the new editor and was taken out.

Do you delete your cookies when you exit your browser? Please note you enable cookies, and this allows you to remember your choice in opting out of the new editor.

Why in the world would you take out the short link function? It is absolutely necessary to be able to use short links to connect pages and posts. Without this function, nobody will be able to navigate between pages and posts. I hate to be nasty about this, but this is insane. PLEASE reintroduce this into the new editor before you disable the old editor. Otherwise, I’ll have to migrate my site to someplace other than WordPress. Pass this message along to whomever needs to hear it.

We are aware of this, and it has already been reported to our developers. They are looking into it, and all updates will be posted in that thread, so feel free to keep an eye out on that!
