New Layout for posting?

I posted my 16th blog today, but had SO MUCH trouble doing it! What’s with the new layout for posting? It seems much more basic and far less convenient! I normally insert images throughout the text of my posts, and I can not figure out how to do that with the new layout. Really frustrating. I published anyway but am not happy with it, as I have a few images that I edited and sized to include throughout. PLEASE HELP!

Our team is working on some updates and changes to the new post page here: https://wordpress.com/post/
Currently, you can add images to your posts by dragging & dropping them in the space below the post editor to create a gallery. Our team is also working on updates to that feature to give more options for adding and managing images and other media.
In the meantime, if you prefer to add a single image at a time, you can still do that using the post editor under Posts > Add New in your blog’s dashboard. You can also edit existing posts under Posts > All New in the dashboard. (You can get to that dashboard with the “Dashboard” link on your My Blogs page.)
