New Live Chat Platform – Cannot Edit the Footer in WP.com to Install

Hi,
I’m working on a startup chat technology for blogs called Typepath.
In short, Typepath lets bloggers across an entire niche (e.g. indie rock, vegan blogs, tech blogs, etc.) install a small snippet of code into their blog’s footer which activates a chat module on EVERY site that’s tuned into that particular path.
The result: readers from e.g. 100 different blogs can chat with each other in realtime. This way, even if there’s only one person on a particular blog who want to shoot the breeze, she/he will have access to a whole community of people with similar interests. (This should also keep readers on blogs longer and publicize each blog to a larger audience.)
We have several WP.com bloggers who want to add our technology to their blog, but they’re unable to because they cannot access the footer file via the admin on WP.com
Whereas on a regular WP install, the option to edit the footer is readily available as can be seen in these screenshots.
Anyone have any suggestions? We’d like to remove as many technical barriers as possible from bloggers being able to have fun with this.

Sorry but that site is not hosted by WordPress.COM. You are posting to the wrong support forums. We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs. We do not provide support for WordPress.ORG software and cannot help you.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

I think (with all due respect) you completely misread my post.
I am not referring to typepath.com. I am referring to all the bloggers on WordPress.com who cannot install our technology because the WordPress.com does not let them edit the footer file.
For example, a blogger at https://cookingwithsomehelp.wordpress.com is trying to add Typepath to her site but cannot find a way to do so.
PLEASE do not move, remove, report or tag this support thread. There’s nothing wrong with what I’ve posted.

That’s understood. We cannot edit footers on WordPress.COM blogs and embed any links into them. And, that is why I tagged this thread for a Staff response. Please be patient while waiting to receive it.
