New media upload – no images show up

  When I try to insert ‘new media’ I click on upload files > Select files and choose one from my computer. But then nothing seems to happen. I am left with a blank ‘Insert Media’ box, the ‘Select files’ button has gone, and ‘1 selected’ appears at the bottom. But I can’t see the uploaded image or any info at all! In the middle of the blank area is an invisible button that if I hover over it and right click says ‘silverlight’. If I click ‘insert into post’ the image I just uploaded (but could not see) appears.

  If I click on ‘media library’, again I can see nothing, despite having many images previously uploaded, which I used to be able to access.

  I am running Win Vista, IE9. I have wasted hours this evening trying to update my blog – it used to be so easy :(

  Oh! How embarassing.

  I have discovered that IE9 had switched to ‘compatability mode’ and now I have switched it back again it is all displaying fine!!
