New ONLINE business

I set up a website with go daddy but it is not very flexible, so not totally happy. Go daddy has suggested word press downloaded onto their domain. Is this practical with the support available at Go daddy or will transferring to word press be more beneficial with support? is it expensive for someone in word press to help set up the new site?

Hi there,
As far as I know GoDaddy doesn’t provide WordPress support – their support will only extend to your hosting plan with them, not to using the actual WordPress software. Support for that software is provided by the community who makes it on WordPress.org.
If you transfer the site to our hosting on WordPress.com instead, we do provide support for the WordPress software, here in the forums for free sites, and via email and live chat if you’re on a paid plan. All sites, including free, also come with spam protection, enterprise-level security, and automatic software updates included, so you don’t need to worry about any of the technical back-end stuff, but can instead just focus on creating your content and making your site look good.
If you’d like to move your site to us, you can find the steps for migrating your content from GoDaddy’s website builder here:

is it expensive for someone in word press to help set up the new site?
We don’t offer a service where you build your site for you – if you want that you’ll need to hire a freelancer on a site like Upwork.com – but our support is available to help guide you in how to do what you need to get your site looking the way you want.
