  It’s not useful at all. Cannot put a border around an image anymore. Why was it important to eliminate that?!

  Your last point about the toolbar sounds a little strange. The toolbar shouldn’t get in the way too much. May I ask what browser version you are using please?

  Hi @scottmac56. It wasn’t eliminated, it just hasn’t been added yet. The editor has been rewritten from the ground up to take advantage of infrastructure changes and a new codebase so that WordPress.com can expand and scale in the future.

  This is a nightmare.

  1) I can’t designate custom links for images in my blog posts any more among other things. I’d pick that as my priority.

  2) You say you can still use the editor in Admin, but I can’t get into that editor on an existing draft post tonight. It just spins and spins. It was fine before WP made the change.

  I withdraw my comment that “this is a nightmare.” That’s way too harsh. My apologies. I don’t have issues with the new editor other than making it work the way the old one did. I am using an up to date browser (I checked) and I’m still having trouble getting into the Admin editor. Is WP having any issues tonight that would account for the constant spinning?

  You can add a custom link for an image by inserting the image first and then clicking on the link icon in the edit toolbar.

  Are you using Edge on Windows 10 by chance? If so, can you please comment at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/missing-visual-editor-7?replies=6

  Not using Edge or 10. Editor in Admin now letting me in. Things are still a bit jumpy inside the dashboard on the Admin editor, I think? Thank you for your responses. If I continue to run into difficulty with the base editor, I’ll let someone know. (I use both Admin and the old/new WP editor btw because neither one of them does everything I want.
