New page links
-
I am using the ocean mist theme whereas it puts tags at the top of the page for new pages, i added a new page for readers to click to go home yet clicking the HOME page tab just brings it to a new page. Is there anyway to link the title HOME so as when they click it it can bring them to the home page? I tried it with HTML but it has no effect.

Put the link to your blog as the title of a page. Strangely, this will only work if you give the link a name with more than one word (separated by spaces). So “home” or homepage” won’t do but “home page” will.

Oh what a relief to see I am not alone out there wondering how to make this happen… SO frustrated I can’t tell you. Anyhoooo….based on what I see on the inquirers site they haven’t as yet figured this out and I am trying but still not exactly sure what you mean.
You mean I should create a new page titled “home page” but how do you link that exactly to the blog?
(Sorry for being such a novice.)

@teamspiers: just create a new page with this as its title:
<a href="URL">Home Page</a>
(where URL is the complete address of your blog as copied from the address bar of your browser.)For links in general, see here.

FINALLY, thank you.
I knew this question had been asked many times but the answer was never simple enough for my simple brain. (Never professing to be a tech person, but love to write and blogs!)
If you look at the sites of those who previously asked the same question, you can also see that they hadn’t ever resolved their issue as none of their sites have made this change.
So really… THANK YOU for your patience and a complete answer!

Actually one did make the change (after I left her a comment clarifying that it had to be at least two words):

Anyway I’m glad I could be of help; glad, too, that you searched the forum before posting your question! If you care for one more piece of advice, I noticed that you have a “Contact Us” page in which you give out your email address: this will bring you more spam. I suggest you give the wp contact form a try. Remove all the text from your Contact Us page and put this instead:
[contact-form]
Note that if you want to see it the way your visitors will, you must log out. -
