New page missing
-
I just added a new page on my blog, but it’s not showing up. I tried it in both Safari and Firefox. I can go to the page by typing in the URL, but there is no tab to navigate to it from my main blog homepage. How do I make it visible as a tab?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m assuming you actually mean Post and not Page.
Please be sure you are running one of the browser versions here http://browsehappy.com first.
You may be able to recover an earlier post revision. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/
If you’re not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.
If you cannot locate the post for locating and restoring a post revision, and it’s not in your Trash folder http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/ then you will not be able to recover it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash
Did you create your post on the dashboard of your own blog?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add NewOr did you create your post on the front page of WordPress.com?
http://wordpress.com/#!/post/Advice:
Create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog

It is a “page.” I want it to be next to my “about” page. It is a gallery of images. For some reason if you go to emilyowenartist.wordpress.com/paintings it shows up, but the menus are messed up on the home page. Ideally, I want the menus to be “Home, About, Paintings”

Can you locate them here? Dashboard > Pages > All Pages?
You can look in the last autosave for Pages » Page Revisions
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-revisions/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-revisions/#restoring-revisionsIf you don’t find the post or page then it could be in your trash.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/ Provided you did not permanently delete it then restoration is possible.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trashCustom Menu Troubleshooting – My Pages aren’t appearing
They must be public pages – not private.
Public – The page will be visible to everyone.
Protected – The page is protected with a password you set. Only people who have the password can view a protected page.
Private – Pages are only visible to blog Editors and Administrators. Private pages are not visible in Reader, feeds, or in any search. A page can be private without being password protected. -
Custom Menu Troubleshooting – My menu isn’t appearing
Go to the custom menu page in the dashboard Apearance > Menus and in the “theme location” module at upper left select your custom menu from the pulldown and then click “save”.Custom Menu Troubleshooting – My pages are in the wrong order
Check the sub-pages themselves to see if you have established a Parent page and child page “hierarchical structure” in the page attributes module. Remove if required. Also remove any “order” numbers you have assigned that may conflict with the order you are creating by dropping and dragging. Or simply change them so they are the same order as you establish in the menu. Establish consistency – problem solved. -

I tried to create a work-around via “menus.” I made a new menu that contains my “Paintings” page that I am trying to make visible. It sort of worked, but now my “home” and “about” tabs are missing!

You need to include all of them in you custom menu here > Appearance > Menus

This is happening to me too! My new page will sometimes show up if I go in and click “update” but then a few minutes later, it disappears again…

It’s happening to me too. I tried to add a page to my blog that had no parent so that it would show up in the tabs near the header image. It showed up at first but after the first refresh disappeared. I thought maybe there was some glitch in the page, so I copied it, gave it another name and got the same result. I then decided to create another page from scratch with only text and got the same result. My blog is: http://hikingangelesforest.com/ There are now three pages in that show up in my dashboard that do not show up on my site. Using the latest Chrome Browser. Also doesn’t show up in latest IE browser or Safari browser.

I also tried changing the location of one of the new pages to be located so that “about” was the parent. It worked for a few minutes and then disappeared again.
