NEw page not coming up on the menu

    Hi, I’ve added a new page called ‘Other’ but it does not come up on the preview of my website plus on the menu page of the dashboard it says ‘no items’ under the draggable menu items section. How do I get my new page on the menu?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello Becky!

    In taking a look at your site, it appears that all the links in the top menu are broken as well. Have you made any changes to the structure of URLs on the site recently? There’s definitely a bit of a bigger issue at work here.

    Hello!

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    I only set up the website last week and haven’t yet set my pages to publish. One thing I did do that I’m wondering about now separately to the new page issue is that I changed the title of the blog page from ‘blog’ to ‘news’. I’ve added two posts to that which show up when I press preview but not when I view the site separately on another tag and press f5.

    Hi there,

    I only set up the website last week and haven’t yet set my pages to publish.

    If your pages are not published yet, they won’t be available on the Menus section of the Customizer to add to your menu.

    If you want to work on your pages without people being able to see them, you can set your entire site to private. You do that at My Site ->Settings ->Privacy.

    Once you’ve done that, publish your pages. If you then look at the preview in the Customizer your pages will be there if you click the Add Items button in the Menus section.

    If you’ve added any other “pages” to your menu without the pages being published, you might need to remove those and re-add then once the pages are published.

    Please let me know if you need any more help with this.

    Hi both,

    Thank you very much for your responses and helping me. I’ve got a lot to learn! I’ve signed up to a WordPress for beginners one-day course which will hopefully help. Didn’t realise I’d be quite so rubbish at getting my head around it but never mind! :)

    The course you signed up for wasn’t with us, was it? If not, please be aware that it might most likely deal with the self-hosted version of WordPress, called WordPress.org. There are strong similarities between the two, so you’ll definitely find value in it, but not everything they’ll discuss will apply to your WordPress.com site.
