New Page Preview Issues–how effects theme

Is there any way to turn off follower notifications temporarily? I want to preview how a new page will affect my overall theme look, i.e. will tabs now spill to another line, but I don’t want to inform my followers of this new test post until I’ve got the final version, so want to post something on a new page without notifying the followers. Alternately, would be happy to be able to preview the new look of the theme when a new page is added without actually adding that page, don’t see a way to do that either.
    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi Stan,

Instead of trying to turn off/turn on follower notifications, you can simply set your blog to “private” while you work on it. You can try to do this during a time when your users are least likely to check the blog (early in the morning / late at night, for example). It would still send notifications to email followers, but since you don’t have any, you should be all set.

To help cut down on the time your blog will be private (which means no one will see it, unless they are invited by email), you can simply set the page you’re going to create to private (you can do this once you create it), work on it until it looks right to you, then select a good time to set the entire blog to private; once the blog is set to private, you can set the page to public, and work on fixing the menu (if you need to).

Let me know if you have any further questions, or need this explained in greater detail.

    Cheers!
