new page tabs missing

  Ok I have made a few pages, 4 to be precise, two of them under one parent and another independent page. the parent page displays in the pages widget and it has a tab at top. Other newest site, not parent, displays in the pages widget but doesn’t have a tab!!!1 Why is this????
