new page without tab at top?

  Is it possible to create a page in WP and not have it appear as a tab at the top? I’m putting my school’s website up with WP and don’t want all the pages listed on the sidebar to become tabs at the top.

  Either make it a subpage of one of your parent Pages or mark the Page as Private. (Sulz, did we ever figure out if that actually worked or not?)

  Or change your theme to one without tabs.

  Using the Contempt theme (which the blogger is using) I confirmed that creating a published parent page with a private sub-page will work. The private sub-page will not appear in the page tabs at the top of the theme but by placing the pages widget in the sidebar the link to the sub-page is available.
