new pages show just an image place holder

  Anytime I add a new page, the page shows a tiny image place holder in the center of the page, but nothing else in the body of the page. Any text I type in gets placed where a footer would go. I am not putting any images on these pages, just text. This has never happened before, so I have no idea what is going on.
