New pages won't publish – keep getting a 404 Page Not Found Error

  • Unknown's avatar

I attempted to revise the title of an existing Page – and after updating it – got only this:

    “Not Found

The requested URL /contact-us/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

Then I created an entirely new Page – same error.

In addition to the new pages not publishing – that original page I retitled (and subsequently deleted altogether) – the title of it still appears on the site upper menu (‘Contact LLD’ – even though there’s no page titled that way now).

  • http://lisalupia.com/contact-us/ seems to be loading just fine for me.

Perhaps there was a momentary delay?

    This is truly bizarre.

The error/old Page (;Contact LLD’ menu and page error) continued to appear when I loaded it using Chrome.

So after seeing your message – I tried loading it using Explorer – and low and behold – it appeared to be working.

So I then emptied cache/etc on both browsers and checked again.

And now I have the previous site (old non-Wordpress page) loading in both browsers.

So I’m thinking the name server change earlier today (by the domain service) didn’t work?

Add to that – I’m not at all sure how you saw the http://lisalupia.com/contact-us/ page – since the old site appears to still be live?

  • This definitely sounds like a propagation issue.

It can take domain changes up to 72 hours (though usually much less) to propagate to your ISP. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.
