New phone, new Number, disable 2-step

  I have 2-auth enabled since the age of dawn. I don’t log to WP very often (clearly) and now I’ve moved to another country, with another phone.

  Luckily, I have backup codes (that’s how I was able to log-in). So now I want to move the 2-factor auth to the new phone/number, and apparently you have to disable it first; this is not possible anymore, since I no longer have the old phone nor the old number, and you’re supposed to get a code via SMS to disable 2-factor auth.

  Any idea what I can do?

  Hi @gryzor, no problem. You can use one of your backup codes in that spot, too, to disable 2-factor. Then you’ll be able to start it again with your new number.
