new post announcement — without umlauts

  all mails to subscribers about a new post are sent with –white-on-black-question-marks– instead of correct umlaut-letters

  the mail-header seems to be ok:

  Content-Type: text/plain; charset=”UTF-8″
  Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

  and on the admin page we chose language: de – Deutsch

  I created a test post on my blog and then viewed the resulting email and the umlaut letters worked in my test: http://d.pr/sBF

  I used gmail viewed from Firefox 7.0.1 in my test.

  Is the display issue perhaps with your email program?
