"New Post" As Option On Front Page WP.com Bar
-
This is more of an annoyance than anything else. Whatever you call that bar at the top of the page (when you’re logged in) … the WP.com bar? … will often have an option for “Edit Post” if you’re on a single-post page, but there’s no option for “New Post” if you’re on the front page of the site. (I suppose it would if your front page were a static page.)
I’m of the school that values laziness as a tool for progress. :-) Saving mouse clicks is good, by me. Especially as I have about ten blogs, and so I have to go through a list, then a sub-list, to get to the “new post” option.
There’s certainly room at the top of the screen. :-) Hope all are well.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s called the admin bar, it’s always there as long as you’re logged in, and it’s always the same. Hover over “My Blogs”, hover over blog name, click “New Post”.
(Alternative: bookmark your main dashboard pages or even your Add New Post pages.)

Admin bar. Thank you. On the admin bar, it would be nice to have a direct link to the New Post page. Not a major improvement, obviously, but also an unobtrusive addition that would make the UI simpler. I think expecting bloggers to have a bookmark handy to the post page for each of their blogs is not a better solution, but a much poorer one, especially if they don’t have a bookmarks bar on every page in their browser. It’s not that hard to go through the menu, but it is a drag if you’ve got a big menu to go through. (Am I alone here in doing a *lot* of blogging? Improvements are always nice, if they make things even a bit simpler, and don’t add bloat.)
