‘New Post’ Automatic Email to Followers Displays Incorrectly
-
When my email followers receive the automatic email from WordPress, alerting them to a new post I’ve made, the pictures look very long and distorted in the body of the email, for mobile phone viewers. I’ve already changed the settings on my account so that when people physically go to my website it displays correctly on a mobile device, so I’m not sure why the pictures are distorted in the email.

Hi, could you send more details?
– Which site are you struggling with? Can you send a link?
– Are all posts affected or just one or two? If it’s one or two can you send links?
I’ve already changed the settings on my account so that when people physically go to my website it displays correctly on a mobile device
Can you clarify what change this was?

My website is http://www.irecprek.wordpress.com
Any images in my posts appear very elongated and vertical in the body of the automatic WordPress email to my followers, when they are meant to be a nice, neat collage, which is how the appear on the site/once the actual link to my website is clicked on/visited.
The most recent change I made was in my settings: “Dashboard” to “Appearance” to “Mobile,” where I “enabled mobile theme.”

The theme on your site cannot have any effect on how new post emails appear, as the two have nothing to do with each other. The only setting on your site that can affect the emails is the setting whether the site feed shows full posts or just a summary.
You also should not enable the mobile theme on your site. The Affinity theme you’re using is already mobile-friendly, meaning it adjusts your site’s layout automatically to work properly on smaller screens.
The mobile theme you enabled is a generic mobile theme meant for use on sites with themes that don’t have a mobile-friendly version built in. That mobile theme will show a generic design instead of the design actually visible on your site, and won’t display your widgets, custom menu, etc. That mobile theme also is no longer being maintained and will likely be removed completely from WordPress.com in future.
Please forward the new post notification email for your most recent post to help at wordpress.com, and let us know here once you’ve done that, then we can take a look.
