New post generates a comment

  Whenever I add a new post it generates a comment notification as if I had made a comment on a post rather than adding a new post. The post comes out just fine but it’s rather annoying – what’s gone wrong?

  Did the post contain any links to previous posts on your site? It sounds like your new post generated a Pingback. It’s a special type of comment generated when someone links to your site.

  You can prevent “self pings” like this with these steps:
