New Post in Wrong Place
-
All right, I’m almost fed up with WordPress…
I have several pages on my blog. I wanted to publish a new post on the “Travel” page, but it keeps ending up on the “Home” page. It’s the the right post, but in the wrong place. HELP PLEASE!

Hi Dianne. First and foremost, I think you should familiarize yourself with the concepts of posts, pages, and categories. This is a good start:
-
You can’t post to any page but the home page. Your Travel page is a page (static content), not a blog post or a page with blog post content, so you cannot post a new blog post to it. What you can do is create categories, such as Travel, and assign each post to a category, then have the links in your menu lead to those category pages. That will give the appearance that each post has been posted to a separate page.
This will help you: http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
And this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

I almost forgot: you are using a theme that has a homepage quite unlike the others:

mmadfan summarized what is explained in detail in the first link I gave you :-)

Yes, I didn’t note the theme was Morning After — that is an unusual one, and I think it’s particularly tricky to work with if there’s not already quite a bit of blog content — or at least some — to work with, for featured posts and so forth. It looks nice, but when starting out a blog, it might not be the easiest one to work with.
