New Post Menu Gone ?

  Just yesterday, when I selected “New Post” a handy simple little selection menu came up with options like “photo” “media” etc. with easy little click on icons. Now I get a single screen that looks a little more complicated….. did I mess up an option or something ???

  Hey Brian,

  Are you referring to this screen here?

  

  If so, that’s our new post editor that we rolled out in the last 24 hours, which is why you noticed the switch. You can still change the post type under “Advanced Settings” on the right-hand side of the screen though.

  Can you let me know if this is the screen you’re referring to? We’re also eager to hear feedback regarding the new editor if you have any!

  Thanks for the quick response !

  Yup, that is the screen I was referring to.

  I set the advance settings to image & it was helpful, however,
  is there a way to use the quick and easy posting method the existed before….. click on image posting icon, pop in a title, zip in a picture, and lob some text into the cute little box and bingo it’s done.

  The old method gave me time to have an extra coffee and still make it to work on time……. I don’t think my boss will take ” I am late because WordPress changed it’s posting tools” as an excuse and skipping the extra coffee is totally out of the question.

  Hey Brian!

  It looks like you may have tried to attach an image to the forum thread here. Can you upload it to your Media Library instead? Images can’t be attached to the forum so I can’t see what you attempted to upload.

  Regarding the post editor, there isn’t a way to change back to the old method. We realize there are a few kinks with the new post editor, and we’re actively working on sorting them out. In the meantime, you can still post from your Dashboard here:

  That should give you the same image adding and editing capabilities as before!

  Not a problem Brian! Also, just to let you know, we added an “Add Media” option to the new post editor so you should be able to add images as before.
