New post not showing on Home page

    Oops! I added a post to an older thread, thinking it would be better etiquette than starting a new one, but I didn’t notice the resolved/unresolved thing.

    So, here’s a new thread in case the other one is simply ignored.

    I published a post this morning that did not show up on the Home page for quite a while, and even then it seemed to appear intermittently.

    The post shows as Published and Public in the dashboard, and I can always reach it via the permalink, but it only shows up on the Home page intermittently.

    The problem is not browser-specific, as I’ve tested and have observed the same behavior in Chrome, Firefox, and IE.

    I’ve tried cleaning out the cache and restarting and nothing works.

    As of right now, the post continues to appear sometimes and not others after repeated refreshing of the page.

    I don’t thing there is anything wrong. It could be a temporary glitch somewhere on the internet, or possibly even at the university since we’ve seen quite a number of problems with schools and the firewalls they use in the past although that has not been an issue for a while now.

    One thing I would suggest is to go to settings > reading and set your blog to display fewer posts on the post pages. Perhaps reduce it to 5. On my wireless internet connection your site loaded pretty slowly.

    I kinda think you’re right that it’s a temporary glitch somewhere. It’s just unsettling when it happens, I’ve seen that it’s been happening for others, and so I thought it might be a WordPress thing that WordPress might like to know about.

    Also, I’ve thought about reducing the number of posts on my Home page, and will give that a try.
