New post notifications

  Hello,
  At the moment, when I upload a new blog post, my followers get the full post as a notification in their inbox. Is there a way to change this so that they only receive the beginning of the post and have to click on it to go to my website to read the rest?

  Hi there,

  Sure you can do that.
  Just go to the Settings → Reading page on the WP Admin dashboard.

  In the For each article in a feed section, you can select Full text or Summary.
  Full text means that the entire contents of a post are included in the feed.
  Summary means that only the first 55 words are included in the feed, along with the option to continue reading the rest of the post.

  Thank you so much for your quick reply :)
  I have changed the settings. I had seen this in my settings but I didn’t know what “feed” referred to. I thought it was what appeared on the blog page on my website rather than the notification the followers receive by email.
  Hopefully this will do what I wanted, I’ll find out with my next post.

  I just thought it would be useful and wanted to share this,
  A feed (often called RSS) is a stream of posts or comments that is updated when new content is published. This is very useful, as it allows other people to monitor your blog, along with other websites they are interested in, and aggregate them together through applications known as feed readers, like the WordPress.com Reader or RSSOwl.
