New post overwriting last post
-
My WordPress site tvqc.com has a critical issue: new posts are overwriting the most recent post instead of being created as new. This causes content loss.
Problem: When I create a post, it automatically takes the previous post’s slug/permalink, even if changed manually. The last published post is replaced.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @celebquebec, from what you shared, you’re trying to publish new posts on tvqc.com, but each new post is overwriting the most recent one instead of being created as a separate post. That’s understandably worrying, especially since it leads to content being replaced.
I would have really liked to dig into this directly for you. I checked tvqc.com, and I can see that the site isn’t hosted with us here on WordPress.com.
Just to clarify the distinction, since it can be confusing:
- WordPress.com is a fully managed hosting platform where we handle the server, updates, and provide direct support for site issues.
- WordPress.org (self-hosted WordPress) is the same software, but it’s hosted with a third-party provider. In that setup, site behavior issues are handled by your hosting company or a developer.
I also checked your domain’s nameservers, and they point to SiteGround, which means your site is self-hosted and running on their infrastructure. Because of that, I don’t have access to the tools needed to investigate or fix the issue you’re seeing, and I’m not able to troubleshoot it from our side.
Your best next steps would be:
- Reach out to SiteGround support, as they can look into database, caching, or configuration issues that could cause posts to overwrite each other.
- If you’d rather have someone hands-on fix it, you can hire a WordPress developer via Codeable:
